lost
An excellent fielding display was spoilt by an all too familiar batting collapse as old Dartechs tried to start the season with a win.
James Denman opened the bowling with some very tight overs, and was practically unplayable at times. Neil struggled to find his line and length, as did Pete Smith , newcomer Rich Parsons, and old stager Bob Dunkley. Charlie on the other hand came on and bowled some very rapid overs and was very unlucky not to get a wicket. Martin nipped in at the last for two wickets. Star of the show in the field was Mark Cooper with three (it’s a jug) catches and a run out. The ball was kept going to him like a magnet, or perhaps it was because of Mark's sheer gravitational pull.
Mark and Clive made a steady start against steady bowling and this was carried on by neil and Sam, who played some very nice drives both sides of the wicket. Unfortunately Neil got out to a catcjh behind, and Sam soon had a rush of blood to the second ball from the first spinner to be introduced and was stumped. From there on in, there was a steady procession of wickets, as Old Dartechs paid the price for the lack of depth in the batting
