Match Report
21/08/2005 v Parkhill CC
won
A dodgy looking pitch at Hall Place looked as if it would provide a low scoring match, especially after Adam picked up a wicket with his second ball. However a poor bowling and fielding performance was to gift Parkhill with 173 runs. Anthony had a nightmare as he opened the other end from Adam, and this started to effect his fielding as well as nearly everyone else's. Bob did pick up one wicket, and Anthonys run out was a truly brilliant piece of fielding , unfortunately it stood out like a sore thumb. More runs were given away at the tail end of the innings, and it looked as if parkhill had scored at least 30 too many on a pitch which had extremely variable bounce.
Anthony and Clive opened the innings, and although a few crisp boundaries were hit, their main objective was to see off the opening bowlers who were steaming in, and getting swing and erratic bonce. Once this objective was achieved, Anthony cut loose. Thje century partnership was posted, but soon after the drinks break, Clive went to a smart catch at mid off. Adam, Chris, Kevan and Tim all hit useful runs, whilst Tim was seemingly cruising to his maiden ton for Old Dartechs. Unfortunately Anthony fell to a lofted shot to mid off , but at least the job was done, and Old Dartechs faced few alarms as the winning total was reached
