Am not pleased that I missed this match (I might have scored some runs!). I certainly missed a few records go- highest individual score- highest team score- biggest winning margin. On a small pitch with a short boundary on one side Andrew Steene going in at number 3 did what he had threatened to do all season and came up with a really massive innings of 145. By all accounts the only blemish was running out Tony Day for 4 heaven knows what the score would have been if Tony had stayed in.

As it was Old Dartechs scored 269 for 7 before Martin declared. This beats the previous high score of 252 against Morbid Path in 1992 and the score of 237 made against Swanscombe and Greenhithe the previous week.

Jock hit 25 fours and three sixes and I can confidently say that this is the highest number of runs scored in boundaries since the previous highest individual score was 118 by Kevin Saunders.

Steve Lawton chipped in with 36 Bob Moore with a seasons (? lifetime) best of 34 and Adam Deal returned to form with 20. As I say I wasn't there to see Jocks innings but he has been striking the ball well all season and when he is in this sort of form there are very few balls which he cant score off.

In reply Ightam were totally overwhelmed and were bowled out for 46- this easily beats the highest winning margin record- which occurred when we beat Lloyds III in 1975 and Malcolm Gregory scored 93 and Graham Bennett took 4 wickets for 6 runs.

On this occasion Andrew Cruickshank again removed the top order and took 3 for 13 whilst Martin and Steve Lawton took some cheap wickets and in doing so made some much needed improvements to their seasons bowling averages. In truth Ightam were a weak side, but the ground was nice!
