Another cracking night in aid of Charity

This year the first half of the Crucikers cup game at the school was really competititve. Good bowling spells from Linnet, Richardson and Stringer junior were backed up by some supberb fielding and catching.

The catches by Ricahrd Kinderman, and by Paul Allen wer top notch, and I (Clive) even managed to catch a thuderous shot by Elms by virtue of putting my ribs in the way and leeting it bounce into my hands.

The main contributions to the score of 124 were from Tim and jason, and at half time it looked as if the Church might be in with a shout. Calamity strucjk early on in the innings when paul Allen was run out by a truly superb bit of fielding by Kevin Saunders. The innings never truly recovered a. Perhaps it would have been different if the skipper hadn't put Mat Linnet in last, because he came out and struck some lusty blows towards the end of the innings.

Highlight of the rest of the evening was a bidding war between the Chairman and Richard Kinderman , which sent the auction price of a £5 set of cricket bat and stunps rocketing to over £25. All in a good cause however, and we raised £400 for Ellenor Hospice and the Church Youth Group.
